CompUSA Rebate Rejected

For the second time recently, I have received e-mail notivication about a rebat being rejected.

This last time, my rebate for a APC unit was rejected as having missing receipt and invalid date.

This is real interesting since CompUSA print you a seperate Rebate form, and tell you that's all you have to fill out.

The other rejection was an OfficeMax Brother label printer. Invalid Date. Why would I buy it if I didn't buy it during the rebate period???

I have to write off these rebates.
Hope I get the Buy.com 7600 GS rebates.

Did you make your purchases in store (B&M)?
If yes, go back to the store where you made the purchases and demand to talk to the store manager.
Otherwise, go to the reseller ratings and do your justice over there.
CommmyUSSR was previously sued about the related rebate scams and lost big time.
Let's hope it's not trying to make a comeback.

And.... more negative news to doubt that my rebate from Micro Center will go through... I know they are different companies, but from visiting both of them, they have two things in common - their service sucks beyond belief.

Go battle them, protest the denial - do you have copies of the receipts?

Every person who lets them get away with it pays them to do it to another person; make it more expenseive for them to do it than not to.

"Sorry dude, that sucks.
This should be posed in Brag & Moan, btw."

Your HOT DEALS are not HOT deals if you don't get the rebates.

If you don't know about the problems, you are buying without sufficient information.

Me too! I don't but Shi* from them that has a rebate.

Mail-in rebates really suck ... if I'm buying a product anyway & it happens to have a rebate I'll send it in, but I never buy a product because it has a rebate anymore.

OCZ tried to stiff me out of a $50 rebate not too long ago. I wrote them a formal letter requesting my submission back. I wanted the original UPC back since it was submitted for the sole purpose of the rebate and my intent was to take it up with the retailer (Frys) which required the UPC for returns. Since the submission was invalid, I told them I had legal right to the UPC since it was included with the product when I purchased it. I told them I would report them to the BBB if they did not comply. My rebate status changed soon after and I was mailed the $50 rebate.

Like, Craig234 said, you shouldn't make it easy for them to get away. Fight it out. Even if you lose, you've already taken up their resources.

I had the same situation with OCZ (bought @ Frys').
3 months went by I heard nothing then came the excuses, my rebate UPC was invalid, blah, blah, blah the BSes.
I took up the issue to Fry's.
Two weeks later OCZ mailed me a $50 rebate check.
If it was $10 or < I'd have said "screw it" then walk away but not $50.

I bought DVD drive from CompUSA this past Friday, took it home to do rebate, and the UPC code on the box I purchased was a PHOTOCOPY that had been taped in place of the original UPC code !

Took it back to CompUSA and they gave me a new box without the slightest hassle.

By the way, the erebates from CompUSA are great - easy and fast, as are the Staples easyrebates.

There's a specific thread at the beginning of the Hot Deals Forum titled - are you ready - ~~~~ Rebate Tracking Thread ~~~~.

"Post the latest information about various rebates, here. If you believe there is a problem with a specific rebate, do your homework and learn the facts before you post. ''

That's where you go with complaints like these and, hopefully, someone will help you. If you're thinking that you just have to write them off because you got a rejection notice, then you've got a lot to learn. Post in the rebate thread and I'll be glad to help. I've sent in hundreds of rebates, gotten my share of rejections, and received 100% of the rebates.
