It was over a year ago that there was a really great deal on a HL2 preorder. I've forgotten the exact deal because it was so long ago (this was before anyone knew there would be seperate packages such as CE, Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc). I know a lot of people jumped on the deal (myself included). Then CompUSA changes their pricing, but still lets it go for $40 shipped overnight.
So now, a year later, after the relase date changes and whatnot, I had forgotten all about that preorder. My mom calls me from home (in another state) and tells me that a package from CompUSA arrived. Low an behold it is retail HL2. It is just the normal version, but $40 aint bad I guess. I have no use for it because I already bought a steam version. I just thought it was odd to receive that in the mail.
Anyone else remember that deal or get theirs in the mail as well?
