CompUSA opens at midnight tonight right ?

Went at 11PM. Already 50+ people in line. At opening about 200+. They went up and down the line telling us that they would only let 60 at a time in due to fire laws. 2 police cars there to keep order (the policemen were happy to have drawn duty there instead of BB or Walmart!)

I was among the first 60 in and got everything I was looking for except the 512MB flash drive for $9.99. At checkout the cashier asked if I had found everything, and when I mentioned the flash drive, she pulled one out and said that her first customer had 5 and decided not to buy them all. 🙂

So got it all and home in bed by 12:45.

In Soviet CompUSSR, Black Frida- Screw it, the Soviet Russia joke has been overdone on this site. Also, do to all the various shortages in the old Soviet regime (food, clothes, whatever) they actually had VERY wel organized lines. If for no other reason the people had to hope that when they finally got to the front of the line after several hours, they might be enough product available for their voucher to be reedemable instead of being told they were out of stock.

Is the 24 hour sale nationwide? I didn't know about the store opening at midnight. I might've gone if I would've known. I did try to buy something online at midnight. I was able to put it in my cart, but by the time I could check out with the site being so slow, it was sold out online. That was a waste of an hour of my life.

The only thing that I wanted was the 160 gb SATA drive for $20AR. Nothing else interested me.

BTW.. Is anyone else able to get onto CompUSA's site today? I haven't been able to get onto the site since this morning. I never got an ad in the paper and I was trying to figure out if my local stores (Chicago area) are having the 24 hour sales as well.

And yes it was on in chicago, hell the website had it on there front page and it was known a week ago on the black friday website.

most of the sales guys had to work 12 hour shifts

but since im in the tech shop i was blessed a 10 hour shift 🙂

BTW, our opening manager said that there were about 700 people waiting outside at midnight

i guess the place was like a moshpit and you could hardly move
