It may be even more anal, but on some bigger rebates I've taken a 4mp digital photo of the whole enchilada - stamped envelope, upc, original receipt, rebate form, etc. You can zoom all the way in and read the text. Anyone have any good ideas on how to do this with a postmark?

You can get a certificate of mailing from the PO, they will use an official postmark to show that the item was sent to a particular address that day. 100% legal way of proving it was postmarked properly.

Yay!!!
When I looked earlier and saw that splinter cell was sold out, I was considering an hour's drive to get it. Another look shows that it's available! 😀

FAR is nice!

EDIT: Anybody find a review link for the monitor?

I just got me 30 x 12 = 360 CDs for $32 total plus tax

and they had lots more but my checking account did not so that is what I got

I got a conexant/APC 900 UPS for $49 after rebate. Its going on the big screen TV. 🙂

I also picked up the jumpdrive and rainbow6 III, both with rebates.

What do you guys think about the hard drive deal?

I've seen better deals but I need a hard drive for a computer I will be building my nephews for christmas.

So do you guys think there will be a better deal before christmas or should I jump on this?

I just came back from CompUSA and saw that they had a bunch of barebone systems on sale for $45.88 each. This is a YMMV as I do not know if all stores have these but it includes a case, p/s, motherboard and possibly a floppy and cd-rom. They had a socket 370 system, an Athlon/Duron system and a socket 478 P4 system. Didn't get a much closer look at it than that really as it was very crowded. I think they all had onboard audio and video too but once again I'm not 100% sure. I'll post prospective links from their site, if I find any. Anyway, since this only lasts until midnight, good luck.

Couldn't find anything specific on their site but it was probably something like this:

just cheaper. This might be really good deal for an internet/word processing/kid's/second box. Couple it with that 80 gig hd on sale ($50), some cheap DIMMs ($20) and a cheapo xp or celeron ($40-$50) from newegg or somewhere and its only around $150-$160 total for a system.

What the FCUK are you gonna do with 360 CD-Rs?

I got everything I went there for and I got there late:
2 x 10 pack DVD-R
3 x 30 pack CD-R
Dazzle 80
Pinnacle Expression

There was plenty of everything, but they did bring the DVD-Rs out almost 1/2 hour after reopening for the sale.

Wot a fricken' ZOO! Worse than Black Friday! Jeez. Obviously did not want to stand 2 hours in checkout lane, and Splinter Cell was gone, so I just left. The deals seemed pretty tame, other than the FARs, anyway...

I just got back and it was pretty busy!

The one I went to didn't have anything to offer in the way of refreshments🙁

I ended up picking up the 80GB hard drive since it was about $30 under my budget.

I can't believe how many people I saw picking up tons of cd-r's, it's been my experience that memorx cd-r's suck (compared to fuji's from japan), am I right?

Mountlake Terrace CompUSA sold out of Splinter Cell but had plenty of Rainbow Six 3 at 7pm. They claim they had 42 in stock at 6pm. What a load of crud. Oh well.... How come none of you guys could have hid me one behind the Barbie games? I looked behind all the kids games but nothing, thanks a lot guys!! There were no refigerators or microwaves (like Best Buy) or I would have looked there too 🙂

You can still find TY made in Japan CDRs around if you look hard. Fuji, Sony and Memorex have cheaped out and gone to made in Taiwan CDRs now.

Don't say that! I love my fuji's.

I went to my local store around 10 pm. It was pretty dead, hardly anyone left in the store. Anyway there were plenty of copies of Splinter Cell and Raven Shield, so I got both. Just hope the rebates come through.
