There will be a million and a half sales on EVERYTHING this year after the holidays. Think about how much business were planning to sell, and how LITTLE they actually sold.

<< Man, this is seriously insulting. I still can't understand how people shop at this joint? The CSR's don't know squat, their 15% restocking fee is retarded, and their prices are outrageous...but it's okay, because every now and then, something goes on sale, so we can all line up at 5am in the bitter cold, only to learn that there's only 4 in the store, which go to the monkeys who lined up at 4:45am. Valsalva >>

I did that like 4 years ago when scanners used to be expensive. I waited for 3 hours to get one for $20 after rebate it was mad thankfully they had cheap computers and ram and hd's at the time i made my way to the back found 3 scanners on the shelf. I had to climb up a 15 Foot shelf, and toss one down to a friend. One guy even bought me breakfast for getting one down for him. This was as much fun as I ever had shopping I felt like a linebacker rushing to the scanners. Funny thing is that a CUSA was right down the street from my old house and that was the only thing I ever bought there. They are too friggin expensive $25.00 fro a usb cable gimme a break costco sell them 2 for 15.00 when they have them. Same quality too. Also the people that pump gas at the texaco down the street know more about computer than the people who work there.

An insult to us bargain shoppers.

However guys don't forget that it is not us that CompUSA is after. They
are after the general public. No company can stay in business selling
at the price that most of us pay for items.

This is a thread for bargains and there "aint none here".

I am glad that I wasn't waiting breathlessly for this "sale".

Don't know if the deals are getting warmer, but maybe they are saving the really hot deals for later on in the day.

The sony DCRTRV120 is not a bad deal. Problem is, I have learned through the years NOT to trust CompUSA with my money. They won't look out for me as a consumer. Therefore, I wouldn't hand them a penny for a refurb.

CompUSA flat out SUCKS.

And you guys expected more from CompUSA?

But, yeah, you're right, it is definately a ho-hum event.

They got me TWICE. I thouht surely they would have more stuff this AM and went back to see, but NO! Same old stuff as at midnight.

they got the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro (old force feedback joystick) for $19.99 after rebate. I know, cant compare to any of the wingman force 3d or sidewinder forcefeedback 2, but still, its cheap with the FF technology. Hey, worth a shot, after all, its only $20.

I was also diapointed and went to sleep. Now I checked back and there's a WD 7200 rpm 100G for $220 that looks decent for the people who hate waiting for rebates (compare to 120G for around $200 with $100 tied up in a rebate check)

<< We are in a recession folks. Try not to forget that. All stores will be tightening up on their deals. It will get worse, before it gets better. >>

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought prices should drop in a recession, with all the cost-cutting, layoffs, pay cuts etc. Usually you get at least some deflation with an economy in recession.

You are right, we should actually see more discounts and deals as incentive to get more people to shop. I think we've seen exactly this these past few months, seems like quite a few stores, some you wouldn't expect, have had 30% off coupon sales.

there should be some good after christmas sales, I hope.

docinthebox...things dont just happen overnight in this country. Thank God for that. I expect the recent drops the feds have made will show impact. You have to take into consideration what time of the year it is. How many vendors will give up there margin during the busiest time of the year if they dont have to?

I'm not talking about the interest rate cuts. Those take a while to have an effect on the economy I agree. I'm just talking about the layoffs and cost-cutting that have been going on for the past year or so. Shouldn't we see an effect of these on prices by now?
