Got my 6800 at compusa in VA..I was the first in line. anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me to sit in a warm car and read a magazine you know...

Got the 6800 and 50 Memorex DVD+R pack.

There were 4 6800s, all of which were gone by the time i got to the cashier (lines were long as hell and only 3 cashiers open)

the 6800 softmodded like it was ment to be 😛, and i OC'd it to 350/800 (just randomly) which works too.

Umm, now i'll just have to sell my old FX5900 SE on ebay, and enjoy my new card, which i'm liking so far.

Went to CUSA at 7am and 5 6800's showed up on the computer but the CSR could not find any. Figured they must all be in customer's hands.

Tried to order GBA SP bundle online for nephew but the were all OOS. Went back to CUSA at 10:30am to get GBA SP bundle and checked on 6800 for the heck of it. He said the system show one in stock - diligent CSR looked for it for 20 minutes while I got my GBA. He finally found an empty box that had been shrink wrapped for the display and also the innards still shrink wrapped somewhere in the stock room. So I was able to score one after all! Also grabbed one of the funky orange MS wireless optical mice for my kid for $7.99.

I think my favorite Black Friday tradition is reading about everybody elses shopping escapades!!

I was second in line at my CUSA at 4am. 6am I ran in and I looked, no 6800s on the shelves! But apparently they were holding them in the back so all I had to do was ask someone to get it and they supposedly had a bunch in the back too.

Too bad I can't test this baby until I go back to school this coming monday and finals are coming up.... Lucky for me, theres no restocking fee =)

:Q

My CompUSA openend at 1:00 a.m. this morning and being I had to go to work today there was no way I was going to go there when they opened to get the PNY 6800 so I figured I would just miss out on this deal. I decided to swing by during lunch just to see what all they still had and much to my surprise they had one PNY 6800 left on the shelf at 11:15 a.m.! Somehow it had stayed there all morning. So I grabbed it up and got out of there.

Can someone urgently reply with what they think of the 42" TV deal? Is it a good TV? Which one is it? The Daewoo one? Please reply quickly, I can still get to the store!

For those that got the $10 256mb DDR, what chips did you get on yours?

I got some junky BRAVO ones rated at 5ns 🙁

Around 10:30am this morning, was able to pick up the 9600XT AIW for $125 AR. They still had the 6800's too (not on the shelf, but I asked and recieved). 🙂

Rat, that store seems pull that stuff quite often; were there a lot of folks in line?

yeh there was a fair amount of people circuit city line was a bit longer
and it seemed they didnt have alot of stuff and they were substituting
everything and that caused the lines to not move

I was surprised not many wanted the Sonata at $69. The $10 USB2 and FW cards are actually very good, having the NEC and Agere chipsets respectively.

well, my local CompUSA was pretty fun, lots of people were buying the Dust buster spray cans label Free after rebate only to find out it expiered after check out,, then they have to wait in a long line to return the item. I went back downstairs and just took down that expiered sign, but it was too late for some that was already in line paying. For the time it took use to refund the item they should of just give it to us for FREE.
But I got what I wanted and that's all it matters, 6800 😉

If you have a Frys in your area they always have them on sale for $69 and even had them on sale for $59 a couple times. That my explain it!

JK on the cabinet member thing, but I am still 25% russian and nobody no-how can change that! Rock on as BF is approaching!

lol you scared me so i edited, but then I scrolled down which was more comforting.

I don't know if anyone noticed this but on the PNY 6800 video card it doesn't have the standard limited Lifetime warranty but instead comes with a 3 year warranty. It comes with a 1 year warranty and an additional 2 years if you register the card. I think this may be better than the lifetime warranty because in 3 years I doubt PNY will be still be selling this card. Make sure you register to get the remaining warranty.

Well the Motorola wireless stuff was a great deal and I got one of each., Turns out it's pretty good stuff if you don't want the brand proprietary extensions that give you faster than 54Mb that every other brand offers (Motorola is coming out with their own too).
IThe router is also linux based so it'll run open WRT. It also supports WDS, which allows you to "chain" APs wirelessly to extend your range if need be.
At $10 a each, it was definitely a black friday buy.
