Wow...I am so there for that 200GB hard drive for $90 out the door!!! In fact, I'm probably gonna get two. I was planning on camping out at Best Buy all night instead, but unless they have an awesome hard drive like that too, I'm probably switching stores. 😛
 
I don't understand this campout thing, are you just going to sit in your car until you see a person arrive and then get behind that person?

lol....Not quite. 😛

Basically, what we (myself and two other friends) did at Best Buy last year was just show up around midnight or so, and there was no one else in line - we were the first ones at that store. We're probably going a little earlier this year, but that's kinda beside the point. I didn't even really have that much money last year, but it was still a fun experience. (I imagine going alone wouldn't be nearly the same.) It also helped that I go to school in a different part of the state, so I don't really get to see these friends very often...so we have a night of hanging out, and then spending money on computers/electronics stuff.

Don't tell me I'm a nerd, because I already know that. 😉
 
Yeah....pretty far south. 😛

San Antonio, TX is where I'm from (and will be during the holidays).

Edit: It was 35°F and very windy last year (I was cold, and I almost never really get cold). This year it should be 50° or higher...T-shirt weather almost. 🙂

We just waited until the employees got there and were kind enough to let us go inside to the restroom around 5am. I suppose that if you're in a group like we were, one person could always hop in the car and run to the nearest open gas station or even back to your house. I'm sure some people probably wouldn't really be too happy about that though.

Lesson learned: don't drink much of anything at midnight and expect to be fine until 6am!

Edit: And I'm going to bed now. 😛

I am in the market for a notebook and was wondering everyones experience on CompUSA rebates. Cuz that $450 is a lot to possible lose.

It was just a quick question. I'm looking in to it. I'm running a 9800 AIW right now and have been toying with upgrading to the X800/6800 lines. If you could soft mod this one it would be sweet. I also need to look at what kind of ram and such they have on the board. I was really looking towards the 6800 GT but if this one has a good track record for modding then it looks like the ticket for me.

That's true!
Of the few that have this card already and have done the softmod; some of them have reported that one of the pipelines was bad after the softmod. You can choose to disable that bad pipeline and still run the other 15.

I myself just want the card cause of it's OverClocking abilities. SoftMod'ing it may come at a later time though.
 
it will probalby be different for each state but, how early do people start lining up? i live in MN.
 
so i guess buying what you want before black friday and going back to price match it after the lines die out isnt an option? I dont want or need anything that is worth sitting in line for 8 hours - i can stand standing in line for 30 minutes for my price match. if they dont price match then i dont need it!
 
i'm thinking should i drive 3hrs down to Portland to wait in line at 4am... i wanna get that $500 laptop, but not sure if celeron 1.3Ghz is any good?!
