If the PNY 6800 is after rebate, then I'd probably rather just get the BFG 6800oc for $250 from Frys with Far Cry and without any rebate BS.

Right-don't forget you could egay the farcry game and get a good deal WITHOUT waiting in line 2-4 hours guys! Think level-headed!

Or you could just go by the card now, and then go back to CompUSA in the afternoon of Black Friday and do a pricematch. Think level-headed!

Have you seen the lines on BF....I THINK NOT

And just about every company doesnt allow a PM on BF...fine print of just about every ad.

Well, maybe they've changed it this year, but I have bought early and then gotten a price adjustment on BF later in the day (the past 2 years). Most of the lines are on the checkout registers, not the customer service counters. I think I waited maybe 5 minutes when I got credit for the 3 GF3 TI200's I bought. I certainly won't be in line at 6am, but 3pm should be fine.

And I've never seen that fine print. Are you sure? I've never heard of that.

Easy then, get your refund, and have your wife/g/f/friend buy it for discount price. Not that hard.

The link to the ad doesn't show the All in Wonder or the Seagate 400GB drive. Would like to see that and see if the drive is SATA or PATA.

Yah, me too, I really want that AIW 9600 😉

COMPUSA has denied refun/buybacks in the past so don't hold your breath for COMPUSA with that tactic, you'll either end up paying full price or not get the video card or item at all...

compusa has the worst rebate policies.
make sure you keep all of your copies. They've emailed me multiple times on seperate items from BF deals about "not receiving my rebate".

Took almost 5 months to get my money back.

horrible horrible rebate center

So what day exactly are the ads officially released - Sunday b4 thxgiving? When will those clowns hurry up and scan in the rest of those pages! Who just snags two pages to scan in, ugh! 🙂

I'll second the person who complained about rebate hassles with CompUSA. I don't know if the rebates are going/coming to/from CompUSA itself or from the individual manufacturers. No matter. I completely lost a Mad Dog rebate, waited 6 months on a Fuji one, almost got burned on a Net Gear one, and received everything else after a good 12 weeks regardless of what the rebate form claimed. With CompUSA make darn sure you fill the rebate form to a T and scan copies of everything because the odds are good you will need them. And don't forget the 15% restocking charge even if what you get is defective.

My ads usually show up in my Thanksgiving morning newspaper, but it probably varies from paper to paper depending upon if they skip the Thursday edition or not.

So it's the Thursday paper genearlly, not the morning of black friday...otherwise people wouldn't know to be outside at 4 am :/

Thanks. Now I know the AIW 9600XT is with rebates. Still interested. Wish the 400GB drive was SATA, looks like it probably isn't.

Thanks for the links. I see the PNY 6800NU is with a $70 IR and $30 MIR. Not bad. Still trying to decide between that and the 6600GT's out now in AGP.

Anyway, anyone know anything about the 19" monitors on sale? I really want the Dell 2001FP but the wife won't approve a purchase that big. I see a few monitors on sale, but don't know much about them. CompUSA doesn't seem to list model numbers in their ads.

It says "Maxtor 300GB SATA 16MB Cache Hard Drive - $199.99" in this thread, but i could only find a Maxtor 300GB IDE 16MB Cache Drive on their website. I think this would be a good deal if in fact this drive is a SATA drive. I have never had much luck with Seagate drives anyway...

not really much of a deal. I got both my 250GB drives for $130ish a few days after Christmas 03 from comp usa. Hard drives have really slowed in their development and hitting the market. 🙁

mad

I take it you work at CompUSA? If so, can you comment on the return and rebuy issue for BF?

I've looked over the flyer a few times. Can anyone tell me where they saw the 60GB HDD for $29? On what page, I need a hd for my XBOX and PS2 and can't seem to find that deal.

EDIT: NM Found it lol. I didnt know each link had a diff flyer.
