Sure you could use this as a pc monitor as long as you have a DVI output on your vid card.

But at a max resolution of 1280 x 768 would you want to?

At this resolution how can this TV be called 1080i? I hate it when vendors say they support 1080i even though the TV will have to deinterpolate to view it.

saying that it supporst 1080i just means you can feed it a 1080i signal and it will be able to handle it not that its native res is 1080

1080i is only 540 lines on any given frame so it truely does 1080i. 1080p is new and very few lcds support it and virtualy no 1080p content is available except from a pc. Bad thing is that the native resolution of 16x9 720p is 1280x720 and this display has 768 which is rectangular pixels. Should look fine but not as good as a native res screen.

There are very few display devices other than computer monitors and projectors that can display native 16:9 at 1080p. The newest large LCD tvs are starting to hit 1920x1080p native resolution, but nothing in this price range. Even most of the large rear projection tvs are not natively 1080p. As another poster points out, at this point 1080p content is exceedingly rare, and native 720p displays are the norm. I went to CompUSA to check out this display, it was setup very poorly but after some tweaking it looked pretty good. Not as good as the WEGA 23" which costs a whole lot more, but pretty good. I couldn't try it out as a computer display but I'm sure it would work in that capacity.
The one drawback is for native 720p images there is scaling going on in the y-axis, so arguably a native 1280x720 panel would look better, but the Samsung 23" LCD looked no better in the store. Worth checking out for those interested in this size and price range - check out the web for 23" LCD TVs, there's nothing close to this price.

I went and bought this monitor i like it, but the res kinda sucks (too big) went from a Dell 2005 FPW but for the price i couldn't beat it plus the PIP playing internet poker and watching tv is pretty sweet

GVYSK- Yes it does have regualar Coax hook-up

**Question...... Does anyone know of any sites, like forums about LCD/Plasma screens and have a forsale forum looking to pick one up and want to start out used thanks alot guys and any more questions about the screen post'em up and i will try to answer them to my best ablity

ALL in ALL i give this monitor a 4.2 out of 5

But then again i'm not a gamer

Response time is pretty slow at 25ms and contrast/brightness is also not as good as the Olevia TVs, but I guess you can't have it all. Still pretty damn hot.

CompUSA always has a great deal on some LCD TV. Hope this comes back in a few weeks when I'm ready to buy! But I can't decide between this and the faster, brighter, cheaper Olevia LT20S @ $350! I watch TV a lot more than DVDs, though 16:9 does have a coolness factor to it, and I wouldn't use 1080i at all. What to do???

Uhh... could this have anything to do with the fact that it's primarily a TELEVISION and not a computer monitor?
