I hope this helps?
eww princo...

my thoughts exactly...

princo is like the plague, you dont want it.

Princo Princo Princo Princo AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Lemme outa here..........

Princos are the worst!!

They need a new and improved product...

Princo light or salt free princos or cheesy princos

..comes to mind.

The 3 10-packs I bought were all Lead Data.

I went to another Compusa today and bought another 10-pack and those turned out to be Princo. I then noticed that the Princo variety were in plastic wrap while the Lead Data were in a box. Both included the slim cases.

Also with the princos the top Jewel case had a CD sleeve which was Green/Black, the rest had no paper sleeve. While each Lead data DVD-R slim case had a black/grey paper sleeve. Please post if this is consistent. I will be returning my Princos and hopefully getting a few more Lead Data. One more diff - the Prico's had 1X printed on the top sleeve while the Leads did not specify a speed.

I bought a 10pk to do some testing on the Optorite.

DVDInfo returns my pack as Lead Data. As mentioned by Booyah, my discs came in a box, didn't specifiy speed, and the slim jewel case had a black/grey paper sleeve. So I guess if people want to, they can take a gander at the insides and tell what they're getting by the insert/paper sleeves.

I'm not at home, so I can't check mfg data, but I bought a 10-pack of CompUSA DVD-R's the last time they were on sale. The first two verified fine (data mode using Nero), but the third had errors on 10% of the files (no visible scratches on the disc). This is with a DVR-A04 Pioneer. I've never had that high of an error rate before on a disc that appeared good to the eye. I won't buy them again.

I thought I would get the Princo discs since my local store in southern California only had the plastic wrap type in stock, but they turned out to be made by Optodisc. I burned one with my Optorite burner at 2X without any problem. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying more since the $6.99 sale ended today. The price goes back to $13.99 (after 30% off) for tomorrow.

I also got a pack of +R discs and they are also made by Optodisc. Since the 30% off still applies for tomorrow, 50-pack 2.4X DVD+R discs for $48.99 isn't too bad either.

I bought two different packagings, one in a grey box with individually wrapped discs in cases that have black paper inserts, another just a shrink-wrapped stack of discs in cases, only the top one having a green paper insert. The black-insert ones were "TDKG02000000" and the green-insert ones were Princo. I burned a Princo succesfully at 2x on my A05 and it played back perfectly, reading in two Philips region-free standalones, my Dell laptop DVD/CD-RW and even my 5 year old Hitachi DVD-ROM. I'd test some more Princos and some of the TDKs but I have nothing to burn right now. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, and the TDKs were listed as 2x.

I just burned 4 discs and they work flawlessly in all my dvd players! Thanks great deal for .69 cents a disc!
