Compro PVR (TV Gold+) *** NO VIDEO***

Below is a portion of the email that I sent to their support dept. Really frustrates me that they do not have any live/phone support. Also, they acknowledged that there is some kind of issue with full screen mode & the nVidia drivers causing no video, but that's dating back to the days of the 53.03 drivers. They still haven't fixed it. Of course I'm no longer trying to get video in full screen. Just any video will do. Here's the summary. My comp specs are in my signature:

I purchased and installed the Compro Videomate PVR2 TV Gold+.

The first time I installed it in the third PCI slot from my AGP slot, as instructed. This resulted in an IRQ conflict. It was sharing the IRQ with my 1394 controller.

I uninstalled all of the Compro PVR Drivers and physically moved the PVR2 to the 2nd slot from my AGP card. I then reinstalled the Compro PVR drivers.

Success - It worked perfectly (No IRQ conflicts). Then I made the mistake of maximizing it (full screen).

Ever since then, I have NOT been able to view ANY video. I have tried the following solutions, each time with a full re-install of the Compro PVR drivers:

1) Installed nVidia 53.03 drivers. Still no video. Reinstalled nVidia 71.84 drivers
2) Uninstalled each individual Compro & Ulead application. Went into Device Manager and uninstalled the TV Capture card. Re booted, reinstalled ALL drivers. NO VIDEO.
3) Tried a system restore, physically moved the TV card to another PCI slot, reinstalled drivers. NO VIDEO

It looked really good when it worked. I hope someone can help me out. There's gotta be a way to undo whatever changes were made by full screen mode.

I really dont think it's the card. I just think it's the software, and probablys ome hidden setting that I cannot change, which really frustrates me.

I can hear the sound loud and clear. Just no picture anymore since I shutd own after watching it in full screen.

I have the same card. It sometimes does that too, but only after it as been recording for a long time. In device manager, try uninstalling the video codecs also, as well as anything that looks even remotely connected. When I get home, I'll take a look and try to help out more.

Hey, if you're still there, tell me so I'm not wondering if I'm talking to nobody. I just figured out that you can use Nero to watch, record, and even schedule TV stuff. But I'm not sure yet if Nero can make use of the power on function. If Nero does't work, then there is either a conflict or a driver problem. One more tip, in case you ever get it working(I hope you do, because it has the best quality and functionality of anything even close to its price range), anyways, never choose to mute the speakers during a recording,TV or FM, because sometimes it won't record any audio at all.

I downloaded and installed the latest drivers - PVR and the TV mate.

Still no video.

A friend of mine suggested that I uninstall everything and move the card once again, which I loathe doing. I'm not sure that any of my other PCI slots have open IRQ's. I could go back to the last slot I had it in, and disable my 1394 controller...?

It did work extremely well when it worked - I was happy with how it scaled 4:3 to 16:9 on my 2005FPW. A tiny grainy, but at that res and with my cable line split, it's to be espected. Nothing I can't live with.

Did I mention in the first post how it speeds up my POST cycle? That's been a nice benefit since day 1.

BTW, thanks for the advice.

Do you have an OEM version of Nero? It works for me. Also, they seem to have some sort of beta or trial software that might fix it. At least they are definitely working on it.
