I've been at it for months. I got this 2GB raw AVI file, I'm trying to get it down to 100MB in divX format. No matter what I try, I can't get it under 149MB. I want it 100MB or less so I can put it on youtube. It's just a 10 minute video. I tried 480 width at 4:3 as well as 320 width at 4:3 with different compression options, comes at 149MB no matter what I do. I'm using premiere since its the only thing I have.

Anyone know a program I can use to shrink this file down? Does not have to be divX, anything youtube will accept will do, but divX is probably best choice for quality + small size. I've seen entire movies in divx with higher res hitting 700MB max, so I really don't see why I'm having so many issues with a 10 minute video.

I'll even accept a linux utility, anything, as long as its free and no watermark or other crap like that.

Have you tried AutoGK?

I think it supports AVI files directly and you can specify the final filesize. I'm uncertain, though, if it supports Divx. It does support Xvid, so if YT supports that type, it should work fine.

Damn I thought it was working. but it wont accept the video format I'm using. (I have a case of VERY bad luck when it comes to video/audio formats, probably what kept me from getting deeper in the industry). Of course, it has to tell me its an invalid format AFTER its done compressing. Any other programs I can try? This is basically a hit and miss situation.
