Comprehensive Insurance Claim

Dedpuhl

Lifer
In 8 months of living in Baton Rouge, my car has been beat all to hell. I have at least 15 dings from people opening their doors, there are a couple dings on the hood, and the hood and roof look as if they have hail damage.

Would I see a large increase in my rates if I were to file a comprehensive claim? I'm going to see my insurance rep in a few days, but I just wanted to see how everyone else's experience has been.

I'd say it depends on the total cost to get those dings fixed. I use Geico, the last time I had a claim they said if it was for $500 or less there would be no rate increase. If there is no paint damage your repairs will probably be pretty cheap.
