Completely disabling floppy drives problem

Biggs

Diamond Member
I've disabled the drive a option and controller(FDC) in the BIOS but when I go to the System Properties I get this message,

"Drive A is using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system"

WTF!? Everything that concerns floppy drives in my mobo, bios, and OS have been disabled.
How do I eliminate this error?

I hear you on this issue. I didn't have a floppy drive for a while and I could never get rid of drive A: and the file mode compatibility thing came up. I never found a solution from this forum, nor did I ever correct it until I got a disk drive. I would be interested in a solution as well for personal interest.
