okay simple and to the point.

got my computer, have a KVM switch, my sprint dsl modem (which is connected to my computer).

I got the KVM so when I build a new system I don't have to shut mine down while working on the new one.

so the next step is to get a hub/router/etc. so I can have both computers connected to the dsl modem. (same reason for getting a KVM)

1. What should I use to accomplish this goal??
2. Is there any extensive work required??

Any help is greatly appreciated as I know nothing of networking (though I probably should*LOL*)

Thanks for reading if you have :)

You need a router. Do you want it to be wireless or is wired fine?

Do you just want a basic one ? I would look here. I would go with brands like D-link, Netgear, Belkin, or Linksys.

Wired Router:

LOL, just take a look at the picture. It is the most futuristic looking Network Hardware in the World.

You might consider a Wireless Cable/DSL Router since it is only $5 more. CompUSA has SMC Wireless Router on sale this week for $19 after rebate.

A Wireless Client card for your Laptop. $10 after rebate.

Imagine $40 and you are welcomed to the 21st Century. (As Spidey07 would say).
