its a geek special so no coupon. but it is new.

i am not sure if this is any better than the typical xfx, of bfg $199 models, but well at least its some variety.

the msi8929 is a geforce 5900 non XT.

however compgeeks has a link on the sales page, that takes it to the 8937 version the MSI 5900XT. that one has VIVO though. so i am not 100% sure which it is, but its either a 5900 128m, or a 5900xt 128mb VIVO. both good deals at $199

No, it's not really hot. This is just a plain boxed (OEM) card and shipping is extra. On pricewatch, regular retail packaged BFG 5900s are $10-$15 cheaper (including shipping). The compgeeks one is going to be at least $205 shipped, so that makes the full retail BFG 5900s $15-$20 cheaper.

It might have been a little hot a month ago, but the prices have dropped a lot.

wow that is hot. you get a free mouse or something too.

Actually, the fine print at the bottom is for a $20 voucher good towards the purchase of a BFG boomslang mouse. But the even finer print says offer good until 12/31/03. wtf?

I recall a BFG deal about 2 weeks back that was for the FULL mouse ($60 value), and some folx at FW were trying to stack with with another MIR, not sure if anyone was successful.

Not to threadcrap, but newegg has this same card for about $4 more, free ship, *and* it comes bundled with Call of Duty, a smokin' hot deal. And you also get to choose a free gift (newegg shirt, hat, etc, they have about 8 items from which to choose).

Linkified

Also, for you Circuit City pricematch pros out there - does CC accept printed web ads to pricematch? I confess, I've never done it before... but PMing on this would be very sweet...

CPU magazine said the heatsink on this card is great for OCing, and liked the card in genaral. They just did a huge vid-card test last month.

This place also has the retail version with vivo for $190. IMO worth the extra $11

Why flash it? Just overclock it and you get the same results. I don't think they added anything new. My 5900nu is running about 5950 speed right now.
