That theory only applies to Nvidia motherboards and Nvidia video cards. (and even then it still really doesn't matter)

same brand names has no effect on performance. You can replace a diehard battery in a chevy with a walmart and it will perform just as well.

it has NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER!. i wouldnt get an nvidia....ati is just so much better these days. go find a x800 pro vivo and soft mod it to a x800 xt...then clock it to x800xt PE specs and theres a 550$ videocard for like 350-400$

or just buy a 6800gt for $400 and outperform a x800 pro without worrying about flashing anything.

I think this is what im gonna get, from NEwegg..

Amd Athlon64 3200+ s939
Corsair XMS X-tra Low Latency 1GB Pc-3200
200GB Seagate IDE
Asus A8v Deluxe
Lite-On 16x DVd-Rom
Plextor 52x32x52 CD-RW
eVga 6800 Ultra 256mb
Thermaltake Dream Tower Tsnuami. Dual 120mm Front and Rear fans, one 90mm
Antec 550W w/ 2 Fans

All for 1775

x800xt

dont get a thermaltake...get a lian li for that price...or a cooler master. why would you buy a dvd-rom? just pay like...10$ more and get a dvd burner which can also read dvd's...

msi neo2 platinum is much better too...

antec 550w is kinda overkill...but whatever floats your boat. 1775 is quite a lot...especially when you can build a 1200$ system thats only like 10% slower.
