I'm really new at building computers, and im trying to make a computer just for web surfing and printing labels. I'm currently eyeing these items to put together BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor, CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered System Memory, Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JB 80GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive. Will these things work well together? is there anyway to tell? Thanks

Those ought to work fine together. You'd want to have two memory modules for dual-channel performance, but your use probably won't make that terribly important, and you can upgrade later.

An SATA WD800JD costs the same as the WD800JB, so you may want to go with that.

Will you have a case, an adequate power supply, reusing your monitor, CDROM? Will you be reusing the Windows license (it seems likely you intend to use Windows). If you plan to give away your old machine, you can't legally give it away with Windows installed if you reuse the license.

hmm, i dont think im giving away the old computer since its pretty much junk, and i probably will be buying a student version of windows. The case comes with a 300W power supply but im not sure if that is adequate, or should i buy one thats 500W? Thanks for the tips

you wouldn't need 500w if you had an fx-57 cpu. A GOOD 300w psu such as the enhance 5130gh or a seasonic 330w would suit you well. According to the psu calculator @ extreme.outervision.com, your pc will not use for than 185w. Any psu can do that, but just so your old one doesn't die on you, get a new reliable one. Everything else looks fine, welcome to the forums!:D
