Compatibility with AM3+

It is an ATX power supply. Motherboards are made to conform to that standard. So long as you have that 24 pin motherboard connector and supplementary 4-pin or 8-pin 12 volt connector, it will work.
 
It's marketing. There's no way for a PSU to "detect" what CPU it's powering, so it will work. Keep in mind that you do not need that much wattage for CF 7950's. You could use a 650W PSU and still have headroom.

My setup has a 2500K OC'd to 4.4GHz, and a 7950, when playing Crysis 3, my setup pulls around 280W, and that is including inefficiency. These newer cards are a lot more efficient than you think. Save some money and buy something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817374032
