Compatibility problems between Highpoint 366 and IBM 75GXP??

I have an Abit BE6. I ***cannot*** get my new 75GXP 46.1GB drive to work on IDE 3 or 4 (the HPT366 controller) no matter what I do. I get hard lock-ups at or soon after Windows boots. I have the latest BIOS and drivers for the HPT366 (ver 1.25). This happens in Win98 and Win2000. If I put the drive on the regular ATA-33 IDE channels it works perfectly!!

It must just be the 75GXPs, because I have got two 34GXPs on the HPT366 controller, running fine at UDMA-66.

Has anybody else had problems like this?
