More importantly, how fast to Forza races load?

They stated before that older games would benefit the most. I'm looking forward to fitting in an extra race. :p

eh, go for the 120gb. I'm down to 88gb free space and they haven't even released this feature.

i don't think so

Not yet. It's coming later this fall. There was a leaked document that came out with the release date but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

That didnt seem like a straight comparison (the DVD side looked like it had to load an extra cinema).

Still, this is the one feature I'm looking forward to most. I only wish I had my choice of hard drive like the PS3 - I want to load off a raptor, not a slow laptop drive. I suppose I could deal with a faster 7200rpm drive - thats the least we should be getting at these outrageous HD prices.

I wonder how the 360 file system handles fragmentation? A DVD can never get fragmented and can read pretty fast sequentially, but after a few installs and uninstalls, that file system can get pretty messy and having a laptop drive in there isnt exactly confidence inspiring.

I dont think it handles fragmentation well at all. I have 2gb left on my meager 20gb HD and I was downloading a demo a couple of days ago and Live was crawling so I cancelled the download and delete the cached data and noticed that even tho it was deleted my HD space said 1.9gb instead of 2gb as it said previously.

If only the HDDs weren't so damn expensive (or you could buy your own "HDD caddy" from MS and put your own drive in).

I'm still wondering if they're going to allow us to import MP3s with this release - thought I had read that anywhere. Anyone know?

As for the loading off the drive - looks great - but like someone else said, I can't wait for the silence to come.

Yeah, the whole BS with the harddrives is one thing keeping me from getting a 360. $150 for a 120GB harddrive? Yeah, right. I guess it helps them to justify the costs of the higher tiered systems...

Will this supposedly cut down on the pop in problems w/ GTA4 and Mass Effect? Looks like it should but something else (ram maybe) could be causing those problems.

Id suspect it would help a great deal.
