Hi guys!
This is a question for all X2 3800+ owners. What are your scores in both Cpu Tests in 3dMark05??
Mine are:
Cpu test1:2.2
Cpu test2:4.7

All is default,i mean i just have mounted the computer and run 3dmark.I think those results are a little low. What do u think?

Some info for ur interest:
3dMark patched 1.2.0
1 mg Ram (I mean only one module)
X2 3800+ E4 (6+6 hours of Prime stable)
Msi Neo4 Platinum (Bios settings untouched)
PS Antec Truepower 550
XFX Geforce 7800 GT

Please post your results.

Bye!

Thanks for replying.
Those are really high scores with oc'd X2's but i'd like to know ur cpu test results with stock ones too.

it looks like going dual channel on your ram might be why those scores are seeming a little low

I have 2gb gskill zx in dual channel but when i did the test 1 gb was damaged so I only could use one.Actually the module is in RMA.
Maybe this is the cause for the low scores...don't know if using only 1gb of 2gb in dual channel memory can decrease results in 3dMark cpu test, what do u think?

For oc i'll wait till I get the other stick from RMA.Not oc so much before but now i want to experiment with my X2...2.5 for me is enough by now with stock cooler and E4 (E6 would be better)...by the way u have E4 or E6?

not sure whether or not i have e4 or e6, i didnt think to look when i installed the proc. on overclocking, for referance with the stock cooler, i ran at 2.4ghz. but i can say that the proc will go further. in my system, for some reason i havent figured out yet, i am limited to 2.6ghz. ive tried everything i can think of, but to no avail.

also, as far as 1gb vs 2gb in 3dmark 05, i think both will score about the same, but whether or not its in dual channel will affect its score more.

No overclock:
Cpu1 - 2.6
Cpu2 - 5.5

Overclocked to 2.4 (240x10):
Cpu1 - 2.9
Cpu2 - 6.1
----------------------------
ECS NF4 a939
x2 3800
1 gb PQI 2x512 (2-3-2-5)
Xfx 6600 256mb PCIe
Seagate 160 gb Sata

jimbob u can check it with cpu-z;it will tell u if u have e4 or e6.
well seems my scores in cpu tests are low compared to the ones u got at stock. My overall result with 7800gt at stock is 7155 so i think its right but there must be something wrong with my cpu so i can't even pass 2.2 in first cpu test like u all did.

Easyrider,
your prob is definitely the singel channel RAM. There's a reason why graphics cards have (e.g.) 30+ GB/s bandwidth - it's required for rendering. Now if the CPU has to do the actual rendering, it needs loads of bandwidth too. And, of course, the score doesn't tell you much about it's performance in games, which is mostly determined by AI and physics calculations instead of graphics rendering.

Thanks MrSpadge, thats what i need to read.So the problem for me its using only 1 module of ram in single channel, which was inteneded to work with another one in dual channel.
Will see when RMA returns me the other module of ram if i get any improvements in 3dMark2005 cpu tests.I hope so.
