My status for Guitar Hero 2 on each difficulty
Easy - Have a few 100%'s, but not worth playing at the moment. To easy!
Medium - Have 10 100%'s so far. Slowly knocking them out. All 5 stars though.
Hard - Have mostly 5 stars, but still have a lot of bonus songs to go. 877th on scorehero
Expert - Have two normal songs left to beat. 2413th on scorehero

I had some time to burn yesterday so I popped GH2 in...haven't played it in months and it showed. "Crazy On You" kicked my ass a few times before I got the hang of things again.

I might put some more time in now, actually...

They totally need to put simulated finger picking in GH3. Its downright ridiculous for people to strum that fast.

Not really.. the only song that I found difficult to keep up on speed was misirlou, but I'm getting closer and closer to getting it. Up and down!

Yeah, but you know something is seriously wrong when its easier to play a song on a real guitar than guitar hero. I try to do up and down, but that strum button is far too clunky to do it really accurately.

Don't need to compare, my skills are lacking.. Sure have fun with it though. Plus, it gives my wife "douche chills" when I hit several notes in a row and begin rocking around the living room. Thats always a +..

I rarely actually go up and down, but when I do for very fast sections I hold the fret button almost like im pinching it, to control it from over-clicking. It takes a bit to get used to, but is managable. Dunno. Still cant beat hanger 18. Tried like 8 times tonight, and up to 85%

just picked it up a week ago for the xbox360. fun stuff. i can do 4 buttons, but throw the 5th one in there and i'm all sorts of messed up.

I read that it helps to move your grip so your pinky is on orange and your index is on red, then alternate red & green with your index. Haven't tried it yet because I spent 2 hrs trying to get 5 stars on psychobilly freakout on medium. I suck.

Definitely the way to hold the guitar. I couldn't imagine reaching with the pinky to hit orange.
