Here is my new system and settings
Vista Ultimate 64Bit/Windows 7 Beta
GA-EP45-UD3P
Qx9650es@4.0Ghz 9x450@1.275v.
4x1Gb Crucial Ballistix 1066

I swear I posted this before-

They really need to include encoding benchmarks with that. I would be curious to see how it compares to a 4GHz Yorkdale in Avid/Premiere/Vegas H.264 render times which are real world SMP applications.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 2.66 @ 4GHZ
Corsair 3x2GB TriChannel Dominator PC12800 CL8-8-8-24 1T
Corsair HX620 620W PSU

CPU & Motherboard settings
BCLK 200
Ratio 20
Turbo Mode/Speed Stepping/C1 Stepping off
TM Protection on
VCore 1.25V
QPI 1.35V
DRAM 1.65V
Every other voltage at standard
Load-Line Calibration enabled (anti-vdroop)

By the way, these settings are torture tested (linx & prime95). I'm not pushing the chip yet. Could easily go above 4GHZ but don't want to just yet. Had Turbo Mode enabled at 4GHZ to reach 4.2GHZ without issues previously, but not in this run (it's fixed 4GHZ).

7min 34.943 seconds with my Q8200 @ 3ghz. I know these 45nm 133fsb chips are faster clock for clock compared to the 65nm chips, but i'm right there with a Q6600 @ 3.3ghz.

10% faster clock for clock. I'll take it!

Welcome to the forums jandlecack!

Thanks, and sorry, I was looking for a SuperPi thread on respectable forums and stumbled across this, and didn't find a pinned one or anything. So I thought it was my best bet.

Hey no apologies necessary! I was making my comment out of bemusement.

You did the right thing, in fact you did what most posters wouldn't take the time to do...you searched for a thread of relevance and used it.

My bemusement is that this thread, plus another one over in the video forum, were both revived by first time posters on the same day and I was thinking to myself how I can hardly find my own threads/posts let alone some random one relating to a subject topic from 6 months ago. Whatever you do/did to necro this thread is something that exceeds my skills.

Heh ;) Alright.

Speaking of which (this thread), once I finished what I'm working on currently, I might push my chip a bit further and run the calculation another time. Thinking of 4.2 plus Turbo so 4.4GHZ effective. Am a bit weary concerning Vcore though, I'm thinking it will need another bump.
