in a word; lots.

However they are both overpriced crap and there are much MUCH better alternatives to alienware crap. (for less money)

but you can build yours for ALOT cheaper

and there are better sites where you can customize your own laptop or desktop that are alot cheaper

ibuypower and cyberpower

theres a place that makes custom gaming laptops, i forgot

For desktops I agree. For super high-end sli gaming laptops(which are all overpriced imo) they are about the same as everyone else. I also haven't seen an alienware that didn't have pretty damn good build quality and workmanship.

I always felt Alienware was over priced and over hyped. I have heard both good and bad about their customer service. Personally, I'd rather go with ASUS or Sager laptop but that's just me. XoticPC, PCTorque, or GenTech are all good to buy from if you are looking to buy something other than Alienware gaming laptops. As for the Alienware desktop, I can build the same much cheaper.
