Compaq V4000 Notebook w/Photoshop CS

I just purchased a V4000 with the following specs -

- Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 770 (2.13 GHz)
- 15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
- Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 900 - Pentium
- 1.0GB DDR SDRAM (2x512MB)
- 60 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
- LightScribe 8x DVD+/-RW&CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer
- 54g(TM) Integ. Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN & Bluetooth
- 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

I also have a second USB 2.0 5400 40gig external HD for scratch disk purposes.

My primary use for this notebook is to do heavy photoshop CS, DreamweaverMX and run many intances of IE as well as Outlook Express all day. I usually create 50+ layers per image at times, I keep over 150 heavy custom brushes loaded at all times, I have over 3000 fonts that load upon execution, not too many more filters than what comes standard.

Once in a while I play a game, I don't plan on playing DOOM3 or HL2. I might play Guild Wars on the lowest settings...;-) Which I think should not have a problem. Especially with that 2.13 Pentium-M. The Graphics card could definitely be better..lol However, the 2.13 cpu should compensate some. You think?

Please give me as much feedback as possible. My notebook should be arriving the first week in August.

Thanks,
pcfitness.

It'll work fine, P-M's are fairly good with photoshop. The only problem I see is the lack of RAM expansion (I assume that the notebook only has 2 slots) Also, why is your external only 5400?

Good point!

That hard external hard drive was the fastest most reasonably priced drive I could find. It's actually super quiet and surprisingly fast which I absolutely love. The notebook is expandable to 2 gig.

Any feedback on game with that set up?
