Hello,

PD1010
L2CC70E6J10JLJ

it's was made Nov 1999 its a small case
when i search on compaq's site using pd1010 it get 400 results and the compaq forums were no help!
does anyone know where the serial number is on the case? he bought it 2nd hand and has no documentation

I changed the modem in it and now it won't turn back on the power cable is fine i put back in the original modem and it still won't turn on the power switch seems fine are these type of computer only meant to have compaq parts in them would changing the modem blow the power supply or is immpossible for any of you to know with out a serial number

L2CC70E6J10JLJ is probably the serial, since it doesnt turn on, did you loosen up the power cables that connect to the motherboard? try reseating them, try reseating all of the cards, ram, etc.

you can use any parts that are compatible with the pc, its a pci bus, and you added a pci modem so its compatible

i think you loosened something up by accident, as for their site, its HP now... if you have another power supply on hand see if it boots with that since this is a power problem. did you shock anything with a static discharge when you worked on it btw??

i tryed reseating everything and i can't check the power suply with another normal pc because the compaq's power supply has 14 pins and a normal power supply has more.
compaq's website redirects to HP so with is all the one thing the product information and the forums are the same i've already searched

can you try to remove the cmos battery and make sure there is no power to the pc, then reconnect it and see if it powers up?

14 pins?? oh nuts i dont think you will even be able to find a power supply for it since its older and proprietary, if the power supply were dead or if the motherboard were bad... what in this system? celeron 300, 64MB, 6.4GB HD with onboard video? disconnect everything except just the cpu ram and the power supply which connects only to the motherboard, can you jump start the motherboard with using a screwdriver to short the two pins that the power button connects to in order to get it to post? do you have any access or can get access to another older motherboard and powersupply that will work with sdram and that cpu to see if parts from the compaq will power up in known working parts?
