Compaq Presario X1000

Hi,

I just got a Presario X1000 notebook with a 1.7GHz Pentium M. I did a fresh reinstall of Win XP Home. All went well. But when I opened System Properties the 1700MHz Pentium M's clock speed is shown as 796 MHz. Sometimes it's 592MHz. 😕

I Googled and searched Anandtech looking for similar problems and came up with nothing.

Has anyone heard of this problem?

Doh, nevermind. I tried another search and found this thread.

make sure you select home/desktop on the powerbar, this will enables it to run full speed.

And it worked.
