anyone has a closer view of this laptop. hardly can see how it looks like.. (i know i shouldn't complain for a $400 laptop)

Co-worker has the one that was at Compusa a couple weeks back. He paid $479 @ Frys. Same ram, no dvd burner, but a 80gb hard drive and a 3300+ proc.

I think it's pretty nice. Seems pretty solid. He's really happy with it so far.

For $400, it's a good deal. With no rebates involved and cheap shipping, it's a GREAT DEAL.

Thanks for posting the great deal!!

edit: Anyone know if it has wifi?

Wireless Option 54g ? 802.11b/g WLAN 😕

Does Frys offer any sort of extended warranty? I never like 1 yr warranties on laptops since you can't just go online and order a replacement part for them.

Buy with Amex to double warranty.

Some Visa and MC do too.

Got the 3300+ version from Frys for $479. It's pretty solid and the 5.4lbs isnt that bad either/
BTW the sempron battery life sucks a little bit. I'm planning on doing a Turion MT swap with mine but it looks like there's a lot of work involved.

what kind of battery life are you getting?

Browsing, taking notes with wireless on, brightness all the way down, i get about 2.5 hours.

About 2 hours on the 6 cell. I have RMClock running too at the lowest voltage possible when idling, brightness down too. Perhaps it's because I have an old stock one...when I picked up the laptop the battery wear level according to notebook hardware monitor is 33% 🙁
