Yes, I paid an extra $29 for the higher capacity 66 WHr. In my informal tests it easily lasted 2 hours while playing a DVD and about 2.5 hours with normal usage (web surfing, e-mail, word processing).

Got my 1510T yesterday (ordered on the 8th). The adapter is a IGP 340M which is based on the Radeon 7000 core from what I have read. Since I'm going to be using it for non-video intensive apps mostly, I am not very disappointed (woulda been nice to have the 7500 core). I tried to install from the pure Win XP disk instead of the image but I just couldn't get the video driver to download and work properly so I switched back to the image and pulled out all the annoying AOL, Yahoo, M,$oft and god knows what else superflous icons (why don't they just throw in a CD with this s**t and let me choose if I want it or not).

The memory compartment bottom gets quite hot and if I run cpu intensive apps, there is quite a lot of hot air being blown out of the heatsink on the left. Media gets quite hot in the DVD drive. As I type this, I can also hear the internal fan whirring away. Annoying. Oh well.

Those are the gripes. On the plus side, I like the touchpad and the scroll button layout. I can control the screen with just one hand which is difficult with the joystick button on an IBM. SXGA+ looks really good.

I chose the Celeron 1.6 Ghz processor. Does anyone know if you could use a normal off the shelf P4 on this or does it have to be a mobile version? Does the processor you can use top out at 2.4 Ghz?

1500T uses the regular version of the P4 not the mobile version.
I ordered mine on the 9th... hope it gets here soon.

I ordered mine on the 9th. I haven't received it yet. I'm still a little disappointed in getting the IGP340M instead of the 7500. I talked to a Staples CSR that I could refuse the shipment and they would refund me all my money. If I accept it, I'd have to pay the 15% restock fee. I'm still thinking about what to do...................................................

Has anyone tried to update their 1510t system drivers throught the compaq.com site? I used their autodetect utility and it detected my Presario 1510t as an Evo N1000c.

Yep. Got that same thing when detecting. Also I couldn't up the video ram to 128 even tho I got 640 ram. Is there a way to update the bios?
