"BTW A customer service rep at Dell told me that Dell in getting flooded with returns from people who are buying Flat Screen CRTs thinking they are getting Flat Panel monitors. When the customer is told the additonal cost $$$ of a big flat panel, they want to return the whole package. "

:Q
You would think that CRT would clue them in.

Yes, but don't forget that people, for the most part, are inherently stupid.

This sounds like a great deal to me too. I work about 14 miles away from CDW. I will also vouch for them. They're a good company to do business with.

Damn, just an hour ago they were 'Same Day' shipping. It's now '1-2 Weeks'... I've got one stowed away for will-call when they get more in. The dude said maybe on 4/26/02.

I've been holding out for a 18' Flat Panel, but the prices aren't coming down anytime soon.
This sounds like a great monitor.
Tom's Hardware guide did a review of monitors not too long ago, and the Diamondtron tubes were rated very well.

I'm in. I hope it looks as good as it sounds. :)

Well mine came in friday, but I haven't
had a chance to plug it in yet.
Can't wait, just wish they weren't so heavy.

Ordered this on the 19th. They said it wuld take 1-2 weeks to ship out. Called them up yesterday to check on the order, and was told it would ship out on Friday. Plus they are located in Chicago, so maybe I'll get it on Friday itself. Checled out a couple of reviews, good monifor, much better refresh rates than the Samsung 955DF for $199 at Amazon. Same dot pitch also. Plus the depth on this monitor isnt that much, under 18", the same size as most 17" monitors out there.

Just got mine in a few days ago... Running 1600x1200 @ 85Hz. Overall it's a great monitor for the price. However, the OSD navigation sucks.

I noticed the two lines on this monitor are even more slight than my old Sony was and even those were fairly hard to see unless on a bright white screen, the P910 makes them even smaller and less visible on white.. nice! :D

Overall, I like the P910, but one thing it does irks me. I can't get mine to take the picture from edge to edge. I have a black border, about
1/8 of an inch around. Is this common, or is mine broken?

Why don't you stretch the visible area???

I have the horzontal & vertical set as far as they will go without the image going off screen.

Finally got mine setup. What a deal for $170 shipped!!!

Beautiful picture, sharp image, flat screen... ahhhh...
My first aperture grille monitor and the lines defintely do not bug me.

Just got mine in a few days ago... Running 1600x1200 @ 85Hz. Overall it's a great monitor for the price. However, the OSD navigation sucks.
I don't see the big fuss about the OSD. It works fine... no trouble navigating it at all.
It's not rocket science, ya know ;)

The absent back button makes it a pain, at least for me. Did you have the black border, or can you size yours to cover the whole visable screen?

I have had a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 for 1 1/2 years and I still marvel at its great picture. I have it up on a monitor arm so I can place things (papers, phones, etc.) under it. Diamondtron NF is a flat screen, aperature grill CRT monitor.

That price is awesome as I paid $500 back then. I believe that a similar Sony at the time cost $600.

This unit does have a reverse feature though. You need to press the Main Menu (Down Arrow) button and the Sub Menu (Right Arrow) button simultaneously.

Hope this helps and great find there Mr. B...

The black border is there.
it's not a big issue though.
Just that the border around my 2 other 19"'s are smaller, but they aren't flat :p

What's this "fine picture mode" feature?

I turn it off in CS so it's brighter in dark maps :D
But i don't really know what it does.

psteng19 - The Fine Picture Mode just boost the contrast. Instead of continually having to go into the OSD to adjust the contrast, you have a button that allows you to toggle between two different settings. Personally, I leave it off, as it is easier on my eyes. I turn it on when I need crisper colors for photo editing.

Just bought this p910 last Friday - man, it smokes! I am retiring my Hitachi CM2111 monster 78lb 21" beast. LAN parties without torn muscles and bruises here we come!!

I walked into CDW and bought this bad boy. Luckily for me I work 10 minutes from them.

I couldn't be happier with this screen. I highly reccomend it if you can swing it.
