I have a Compaq Armada M700 laptop. It has p-III 700 MHz, 256 MB ram, ATI Rage Mobility with 8 MB.

Is there any way I could play Warcraft III on this, or should I just use it for a boat anchor?
 
A quick look at Blizzard's spec sheet suggests that you should be able to, albeit quite possibly by hauling down a few quality sliders. With the free demo available, it won't cost you much to find out. And hey, even if you can't, a laptop of that vintage could probably fetch a decent price on ebay.
