A friend of mine has a compaq computer that boots to the point where the compaq logo comes on and then stops with the cursor blinking.

My questions, how do you get into bios and second can we make of list of exactly what is not bad. for Example the processor would not be bad if it turns on would it, nor would the ram. All cables are connected properly. The hard drive is spinning. How about some help people.
 
on my old presario (my first computer , got it for free dont laugh) you had to press f10 when a little cursor is in the top right corner. Same on my dad's compaq laptop. Generally i'd try f1, f2, del , esc and f10 to get into the computer setup
