Compaq 5220

Hi all, I have this Compaq 5220 just sitting around that i am trying to put together. I can't seem to get the jumpers set right so that the compaq bios detects my peripherals. I have two ide ports, the primary master is the hard drive, the secondary master is my cd-rom, and my secondary slave is a ide imation zip drive. This set up is not working right, if anyone has any experience putting these three year old compaqs together, could you please tell me how to set up the jumpers.

Oh yeah, after i get the compaq bios screen, i get a blank screen that only says LI. This screen just stays there until i reboot.

Sounds like there has been Linux on it. The 'LI' is the first letters of Lilo (Linux Boot Loader).
Try a W98 start disk and run fdisk /mbr to restore the master boot record.
(Could be fdisk \mbr, never remember if it is backslash or not)

No, linux hasn't been on it

I think the LI is an error code, for that bios.

I'm still sux, by the way don't buy a COMPAQ whatever you do.
