Comeon guys jump on this deal... i seen this monitor at my local best buy and they was 429.00 for the monitor and its not that bad..not perfectly flat but great picture and perfect for economic monitor or second monitor (gotta love a dual monitor setup w/g400)

I got it for 167 after rebate...it would be even lower if i didn't live in PA (sales tax sux)

Subtotal: $376.45
Mercata$ applied: - $75.32
Shipping: $6.21
Taxes: $26.79

Mercata total: $334.13
Estimated Microsoft Passport 20% Discount* - $66.83

Total amount billed to your card: $267.30

How long does the mail in rebate typically take??

Since I jumped on this deal last night, it has gone down a grand total of 98 cents! Is this what powerbuys are all about? Even with this grumbling, I could not pass on this deal. I too get socked for more taxes than PA, because Mercata is founded in Washington. For the lucky people without taxes, this deal is truly outstanding.

This deal has been here since there is 20% off passport discount. I ordered it on Nov 16, still waiting for UPS delivery. Looks like I can't get it before thanksgiving.

I don't have to tax and the final should be around $134 after 5% ebates rebate and compaq rebate.

I would jump in if I had some mercata dollars. They are still good untill the end of this month if you registered before the promotion ended. I tried registering then, however it wouldnt let me. Apparenly I had registered at mercata before but never bought anything, apparently this doesnt make me a new customer :( I called tech support and they said they would not issue any mercata dollars to me.. :( If anyone has a spare account remove all billing info, email me and I'll jump in.

tomcat,

I've got an 'extra' Mercata account with the $100 credit still available that I don't see any way that I'm going to use. I've already spent over $1500 in the last few days with this Passport deal and I've got to stop. :)

I'll have to look and make sure I feel comfortable that there is no private info in the account that can't be changed. Drop me a note at the email below ASAP. I won't be around for a few days after Thursday afternoon, so try and catch me before then if you want the Passport discount too.

this monitor is excellent. I highly recommend it. Everything is extremely clear and the colors are fantastic. If people can jump on this deal they should. You won't find a 19" monitor this cheap anytime soon without robbing CircutShitty or WorstBuy...

I have zero complaints thus far. The screen size is large, but the actual size of the monitor is only moderate. thanks to whomever found this one! I tip my hat...

Anyone care to comment on whether it is better to submit the rebate via the Compaq website or print one up and mail it in. I am inclined to submit it online because then I can start tracking it right away. I will still have to mail the receipt and UPC stuff, but at least the process is documented before I drop anything in the mail.

Here is the rebate link:

right now I'm running at 1152 by 864 and everything is very clear. I just watched "Shanghai Noon" at this resolution and the colors were spectacular compared to my old monitor (a piece of crap apparently). For the sake of arguement lets switch to the maximum res...

@ 1600 by 1200 the text becomes really really small to say the least... Yet I can still read it fine. I notice no bluring of the text even at this extreme resolution. btw for a vidcard I am running a Voodoo3 2000. I tried playing the old CS. Again this monitor was incredible. Colors were unmistakedabley more powerful than my old monitor. The clarity of this monitor is very nice. A friend of mine owns a Viewsonic 17", which has a very clear screen. This monitor easily compares if not defeats that monitor.
This is a high quality 19" monitor and those people that have the oppurtunity to use this deal really should take advantage. Whether you plan to use this monitor for games, editing, or movies, whatever/whereever it rocks. It is also suprisingly compact. The screen is really the only part of this monitor that is large. The monitor easily fits along side my old 17" in a 2x monitor setup on a semi-small desk. Thus far I have no regrets. This may have been the best $150 I have spent in a while...

Mercata dollars might be worse than coupons, but they are a much better than rebates which might never come. Last Friday I signed up with this Mercata deal. I was also told I didn't qualify for the $100 bonus dollars. I called Mercata. After 30 minutes on hold, Mercata said I opened an account last year, but since I never purchased anything, they added the dollars.

This ends tonite. {10 pst} might be the last chance to use the passport and combine with 100 rebate.

Just ordered mine too...all the Passport stuff was a bit confusing, and I had to enter the info twice, for some reason. But no worries- got it for $255, not including the $100 rebate! Sweet price for that monitor! I had about $67 in Mercata$, and no tax being in California. Shipping was cheap- only $13, for a 19" monitor!
The Passport 20% discount was applied BEFORE the the sum was bill to my credit card (so the amt billed was $372-20%-Mercata$)..that's pretty nice.
Thanx for the heads up!
