Does your company have a sustainability/green committee? There used to be one at the place I am at but has not done much because of the overwhelming amount of work the past year. There has been talk to get it going again and wondered what other places did to get some new ideas.

I know a place I worked at a couple years ago had department carbon footprint competitions, recycling bin design competitions (in an effort to motivate people to recycle), etc.

Sadly hardly. My workplace just murders paper every day, it's ridiculous how much of it is wasted on buffer pages and mailings that go (often) unread.

We are good at turning off our lights/computers/monitors overnight though 🙂

That actually gave me a good idea suggest the idea to publicly display the amount of paper we as a company use, maybe on a monthly basis.

Better yet, if sufficiently large, include the number of trees or acres of forest it translates to. May make a stronger point.

Oh I like that! Could spear into a volunteer program where we plant trees together as a company as an effort to offset the number of trees we've consumed for printing!
