This is an animated GIF from a series of screenshots from Company of Heroes that shows why you should not attack a Tiger tank from the front:

The shells just bounce right off.

I'm not so sure that Tiger tank is the one being "attacked", considering its 5 on 1, and I'd take my chances on the side of the Shermans...
There are two Pershings attacking also.

tiger tanks also drank fuel like alcoholics. cut off the fuel supply, tigers become useless. a lot of times hitting the supply lines was actually more effective than trying to destroy the tigers outright, IIRC (history channel)

heh i think much of the time they had their fuel cut off just due to shortages😛

as for the ricochet...if that many tanks were hammering on your tank i bet it would be mighty unpleasant inside the tiger even if u weren't dead.

and no it wasn't ultimate,it was just decent. many german tanks didn't have sloping armoed turrents because they sold the heavy manufacturing equipment to the russians before the war...oops😛 course the silly russians and germans were in bed with each other at the time. idiots

as for the tiger 2? by that time the allies probably had air superiority. means tanks are just sitting ducks for the aircraft to rocket or whatever.

Agreed, surviving or not, being inside a tank that got hit had to suck!

In the whole evolution of armor versus warhead there was a brief point when it wasn't actually necessary to penetrate tank armor to kill the crew. Just smack the tank hard enough and the rivets inside would take care of the rest. Of course then came poured or rolled homogeneous armor without rivets...

I'm stuck on a damned mission in solo campaign that I can NOT get past. When you have to hold the hill from the Germans (I took it, now I have to hold it capturing 5 strategic points)
Germans just flood in from everywhere and I can't keep up 🙁

That one is tough. You must block the roads with tank traps, to force the germans into your guns and have a couple half tracks to move & mow down infantry. Then build a jeep and use its quick recon to take out the 88's with artillery. Capturing the 88 at the south victory point is also very handy.

The Germans "should" have focused more on producing more reliable and cheaper Panther tanks which were probably the best ALL AROUND tank that the Germans ever fielded. As good as the Tigers were, the Panther would have been there true best tank.
Of course the best all around tank of the war is the T34, but thats no were to be found in this game 🙂
