That depends... which Wednesday are you talking about?

Dec 11.

Well in that case, at least the planning brainchild didn't do it for the 25th. :p:D And just hope it's a huge affair, not some dinky ones like some I've been to.

Would you prefer a Friday night take up the company party instead? Or would you rather spend a boring night (as usual) with your coworkers, then spend Friday night out partying with real people at a real party?

I rarely spend any time with "real" people. ;)

I most likely won't go anyway. Haven't been to one for the last 3-4 years. The wife's usually sick and there isn't anyone at work I want to spend time with anyway. ;)

Darn, darn, DARN!!! You always beat me to it w/the logical response. You are correct. In the past, I've been in charge of scheduling these things....I've also been charged with the nasty duty of emailing everyone to let them know that "There will be no calling in sick on Thursday....being out sick requires a doctors' note."

You can imagine how popular I was....

I no longer attend most company parties. The bosses are always watching to see who drinks how much alcohol, the @ssholes just become Complete Giagantic Rectums when filled w/Demon Alcohol....and all the women that don't look so good during the day look superb all spiffed up and liquored-up. Best to stay away.

hey here's an idea, this christmas be glad you have a job, let alone with a company willing to spend money on any kind of party on any specific date.

Do you work for a small but growing company? My company always had big booze blasts in the office on friday nights back when there was only like 30 people. Now that there are 300, we have our holiday partys and social events on weeknights.

Even the huge Bloomberg Holiday Bash at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC was on a Thursday night. In fact it was the same night as my Compilers final. The kind professor allowed me to reschedule the final on the grounds that I had an "Internship related commitment."
Well, it was the truth! I responded and asked a spot to be reserved for me, and it was for my internship!

Man, that was a hell of a party, too....Thanks, Mike Bloomberg!

Pot meet kettle. I think a weekend would be better myself as well. How many people are in your company?

Our party probably isn't until mid January and it may have to be at the store. Not like it matters because I'm not stuck up enough to get the night off from work.

well last christmas, our party was thrown by the workers, not the owners... and i worked for a liquor store, so it was a bit insane

this christmas, i work for a computer company, and they are a family company. the christmas party is on a friday nite, but it's all oriented around the kids of the people who work there... like NO booze at all, just punch and pie type stuff

i'd rather have it on a wednesday and there be booze and no kids than a friday w/ kids and no booze
