For those who got digital cameras for Christmas and are now looking for memory for their digital cameras.

32 MB Compact Flash | Photo - $21 incl. shipping!
they have all sorts of memory all the way up to high end memory - like 256 MB which runs at $90 with no rebate headaches!

Lots of good reviews. Timely shipping reputation.

Enjoy.

I ordered a 256MB Mr. Flash compact flash card for $95 including shipping a few days ago from NewEgg.com. It arrived this afternoon. The service seems OK. However this card is not fully compactable with my Minolta Dimage 5 digital camera. At low resolution, it can record on the media, but when I transfer it to my computer using USB cable, it totally screwed up, and all the images were partly distroyed even in the camera. If I record high resolution images, it can not write correctly. I even can not format it, just give me error message. But everthing it's fine with the original Scandisk 16 MB CF. I have to return it and ordered from Dell a Kingston brand 256MB CF. I would recommend if somebody want to buy Mr. Flash CF card, please check the compactibility first, also be aware of its quality. Good luck!

i too have the Minolta Dimage 5 and I bought a Mr. Flash 128 megger from newegg.

I have not had a single problem with it. Fast transfers, fast writes at all resolutions. I dont know whats going on with your unit. Sounds like you got a dud mem card.

newegg.com has a 7 day replacement or refund gaurantee. but you have to pay shipping on sending back damaged or undamaged goods, and if it's not busted and broke you're hit a 15% restocking fee. So it's really not a full refund. You lose on the shipping, and 15% of the purchase price.

sounds a little harsh, but when you look at their prices and flaming reviews... it balances out. it's only fair i suppose.

I bought a 256mb CF card from Datadrive4all (Link). They carry the NewTrend TECHNOLOGIES line of cards, which come in different speed ratings. I got the "Superior Grade SuperSonic Ultra High Speed Compact Flash Card 20X Speed" (Link) for $97 (plus $12.60 shipping, which I know is high). They have slower cards for a little less money. The card works fine in my CoolPix 995, and I have no problem with tranfers to the PC. I'm sure I can't utilize the full speed rating of the card with my CoolPix, but someday I may get a digital SLR, and I hope I can get more performance out of it there. Just something else to consider.

Maybe I am lucky, when I request RMA, they tell me there is no restocking fee in my case, I just have to pay $5.29 UPS shipping back.

I just sent back my 128mb Mr.Flash CF card to Newegg. I tried to use it in my Kodak DC3400 but the camera wouldn't even turn on when it was in. The CF card worked fine in a Lexar reader but wouldn't work in the camera. I called Newegg and got an RMA but neglected to mention that the card did work in the reader so they gave me a full refund including the shipping.

i ordered a 128 for my DC3200, hope it works. Sometimes if you get too high a memory chip than is recommended for the camera it could work poorly, or not at all...

but i'd assume the dc3400 is a higher model, so it's all backwards compatible... weird. it seems to be hit or miss with these mr. flash chips.

Micromak, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences with the 128MB Mr. Flash CompactFlash not working in your Kodak DC3400.

I own both, myself, and they've been working happily together since I purchased them. My brother also owns the same set up and has been very happy with it, also. The CF works fine in both of our card readers as well.

Also, I've used the CF card several times to transfer other kinds of files, be they mp3s, zips, etc., and have had no problems.

Just my 2cents for ya.

I've used Mr Flash in a wide range of cameras, notebooks, handhelds, and the Kodak picture frame. Never had a problem.

However, if you have a fast camera, Mr Flash should not be your first choice, as the write times are fairly slow compared to
other brands.

The Mr. Flash 128 MB chip has pretty much the same read write times as the Kodak 4 MB chip I got. Maybe my Kodak DC3200 camera is just slow and can't handle it... is there any reference on any technical page which attests to these claims of faster and slower read write times for Mr. Flash in comparison to other brands?

I just got my Kingston 256MB CF, it worked fine in my Dimage 5. While Mr. Flash CF to me seems really bad.

Hmmm...I've had no problem using my 64MB and 128MB CF in my Kodak 3200.

It's nice to have the ability to take over 600 pictures on the "normal" setting. ;)

Just to put in my experience...

I bought a 128MB CF Mr. Flash brand a few months ago for a Canon S110, and it works just fine in the camera and in the sandisk USB reader. ;) I've heard that the Minolta Dimage line is picky about it's CF cards, but I have a Coolpix 995. :)

is it true you can plug any size compact flash into a camera that accepts compact flash?

for example: the Kodak dc3200 techincal documentation does not include anything about 256 MB cards, could it just be that the 512 MB cards weren't manufactured at that time?

There are some killer deals for these cards going on at Newegg - so I just wanted to make sure with anyone else that may have tried.
