I am looking for a nice little keyboard for a rig that will be used on a very cramped desk. The computer will be used only for basic eBay shopping and selling so the mouse will get much more use than the keyboard. I have so far tried the Happy Hacking Keyboard (nasty ah heck) and the Logitech Playstation 2 USB keyboard (better). At work we have the new bezel-less Dell keyboards, I don't like those at all and they don't save much room.

Are there *any* compact keyboards that are comfortable to use? This user won't be needing F-Keys or a Numeric Keypad but the overall feel has to be decent (AKA, the spacebar should be MORE than 4cm wide!!)

At Fry's Electronics they sell the "BTC Ultra-Slim Multimedia Keyboard" for $20.

The space bar is 9.5cm wide. It has the feel of a slim notebook-keyboard, it feels alot like the Logitech Dinovo Keyboard (which I also have...originally purchased for $250 -_-)

It's very small and light, would work for either desktops or portable notebook keyboards.

Logitech's diNovo is pretty small, the num pad is a seperate peice, so you get a full sized keyboard, key wise, but it takes up much less space.

a really sweet setup, really expensive tho

Of course for the price, you are paying for style over substance. The keyboard is a "style" although is really just laptop style, which isn't very expensive to make; and the mouse is basically a mx700 that uses twice the batteries thanks to Bluetooth. It can't really match the function or the performance of the mx3100. (Even without the numpad, it's still FULL sized keyboard...as in, its noticeable bigger than the $20 BTC ^^

And you can't get the Dinovo without the mouse unfortunately, which IMO was a serious waste of money...I'm currently using the BTC and an mx700, moving on the mx1000 soon (a much more comfortable and stylish mouse, although the keyboard on the MX3100 has got to be one of Logitechs worst KB/MO offerings (it looks like a $20 keyboard basically, colormatched with the mx1000).

Using the keyboard configurator at Newegg they show three mini keyboards. But here is one that doesn't show under mini (pops out under slim) and is probably the best of all - Zippy WK-610. Newegg also carries the Zippy compact EL model. But these may be too compact for those with fat fingers, c'est moi...

. And the BenQ DeskSaver looks mighty good too. Their laptop style kbds are supposed to have pretty good action.

Kensington doesn't make their own kbds so you may be able to find it cheaper under the OEMs name - lots of their stuff is made by A4Tech.
