Compact Flash vs HD Speed

Wanting a 4gb ram drive for gaming. Most motherboards only support 4gb total. Solid state 4gb drives are pricey.

What about using a 4gb compact flash card with a compact flash to IDE adaptor?
Is the flash ram going to be slower than the hd speeds?
Compact flash speeds are 10mb/s or so, dont know if thats megabits or bytes?
I know sata drives are 150mb/s but thats not the actual sustained transfer rate.

Anyone Try this?
