Jetway has a poor reputation. I can confirm this becase i recieved a free jetway motherboard and it did not work too well. This ASUS is much better and costs less.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131570

The review lists it as getting 40fps in CSS..

Also note that many reviews on newegg.com are omited or edited and and therefore are biased. You cannot trust it. Tomshardware.com is a much better source than newegg.com for reviews.

You can get 48 FPS using this board in Wolfenstien.

So basically, everything that meets my specs is in the seventy-ish range, Jetway isn't good, and now that I see an Asus board I'm more inclined toward that because I really like Asus.

Oh, and I really liked the flow of the replies to my post and each other. Just sayin'.

Jetway would be better if the price were below $50. ;)

And with the ASUS board you get dvi and do not need an expensive graphics card since it comes with one!

Sweet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that means all I'd need would be a cheap little low profile video card, and I could have two displays?

I know ATI's chipset keeps the onboard video active when an AGP/PCI-e card was pluged in. For a while nVIDIA would diable it but if my memory is correct, nVIDIA now allows you to have the chipset video running while the Discreete is in place allowing for up to three monitors like ATI has done for years. I think the 61xx chipset does allow this.

I will look in to it tomorrow for you (and me too) when I get home.

I can too. I noticed it doesn't take Semprons, not sure if it's a listing made before the availability of 939 Semprons or if it just doesn't support them. Hopefully it does, because Semprons, underclocked slightly, beat the stuffing out of the Intel Mobile chips both on speed and power.

asus's support site under the cpu support by motherboard says that it supports the sempron 939 3000+ and the 3200+ cpus. Think the reason why they dont list them is they are not generally available, which i could be wrong, but amd's website doesnt mention the 939 semprons yet either. Cant list a cpu thats not officially released yet i guess

The micro-codes are pre-released to motherboard makers ahead of the scheduled processor launch so that they can have the proper support for their product. Also pre-release engineering samples are redily avalble from AMD should a component maker need them for design purposes. AMD Socket M2 CPU's are already avalble to enginneering departments but they have yet to hit the market.

I've seen 939 semprons for sale on some shopping sites, but they haven't hit newegg yet. I'm interested in them because of the power consumption being better than the 754s, plus upgradeability to a Amd64 chip if it ever just gets retired into a media center PC.

I've heard alot of bad things about the asus board. I personally have the jetway board and it worked great until I went to update the bios. Now 4 months later, they still haven't sent me a new chip, but they finally cashed my check last month. Alot of people seem to like the biostar tforce board for OCing.

check out this thread over at hard, person here is in the same boat and the SFF crew is alot bigger over there.

I use the Asus board. It works well. You can get it in the newegg "refurbished" for $50 like I did.
I have never had probs with Asus ( Ive built over 200 systems with many mobos)
Even though im new I have been able to upgrade the bios in all of then (ASUS) with no probs
Also the Asus has the BEST onboard sound and DVI built in.

It dosent OC as well ( not as many options) as a fullsize board but none of the micro mb's do.

Yes the 6150 is better graphics. If ur gonna use onboard the 6150 is the best.

Remember the onboard is no 7800....

First one only had 2 sata but 3 pata, second one has 4 sata but only two pata, so both will support a combination of 8 hard drives/dvdrws, it just depends on how you want it configured.

Board two also has raid 5, gigabit nic and firewire, board 1 doesn't.

In addition to what the guy before me said.

Mmm, gigabit NIC. The only drives being used would be USB and IDE to Compact Flash- can you RAID solid state media? *googles* oh my yes you can! Not that it would give any significant performance gains, but still.

And the video stuff is important. I likelikelike not having to worry about two video cards for two displays, or a sound card.

One board has the 6150 and the other uses the 6100. Both boards are the same but the 6150 iis the faster of the two. And both links you have show refurbished products that do not have real warrenties and sometimes come with missing parts like I/O Shields.

The one with the 6150 Chipset also has an extra IDE Connetor (3 total) SATA II RAID, PATA RAID, 1394/Firewire, and Marvell Gigabit (vs Crummy Realtek for the 6100).

Yeah, that might be a real false savings. On the other hand, I could buy two at that price as a gamble, and if both worked great..
