Its been going on for months. first it started off as physical memory dumping, so i reformated. it worked good for a few weeks then all hell broke loose. Now it will give me one long and two short beeps on boot. or it will give me consistant single beeps. but every once and a while i will boot up. when its up the screen will become discolored from light to dark on different parts of the screen. then it will freeze and crash. iv tried to reformate again but it will freeze in the middle of it. it wont even let me enter bios for more than 2 minutes. im praying this isnt a hardware problem. here are my specs.

seagate barracuda 7200rpm 80gb sata
powercolor x800xl
chaintech VNF4
kingston hyperX pc 3200
amd 64 3000+
thermaltake 480w silence psu

any help would be appriciated
