My compusa is closing tomorow so all is 70% off

So i though, Cool, lets see if i can get that wireless home network that I've always wanted.

Found a netgear wireless "N" router backwards compatable for $45.00 i'm thinking, perfect.

buy it and get home. NOTE: this is still in shrink wrap and with the security tag on the outside. get home and open it just to find two, count them two ziploc bags of dogfood

RANT CUSS RANT CUSS

Call up the CLOSING compusa store and they apologize about it and try to fix it. they did find another netgear wireless "G" router so i'm gonna go and exchange my dogfood for an actual piece of hardware (hopefully)

Moral of story - when buying new stuff from a closing store, always check the package. EVEN IF IT IS SEALED.

ALL Sales are final

Funny... The CompUSA closest to me had no bargains at all this weekend. Most of the stuff was only 15% off, so it was STILL about the same price as Staples next door even through they've been doing this going out of business sale for weeks now. Needless to say, most of the shelves were still full.

And people wonder why they're going out of business... They can't even do a liquidation sale right :|

I had a friend who bought a couple of retail adobe products for like $600 a piece from a Academic store, and found phone books inside. It turned out a student who worked in the store had access to the shrink wrapper and was stealing stuff and then sealing it back up. The funny part was he got caught because the local school PD got two complaints about the same problem from different people and one of them thought to check out ebay and found five of the same things sold by the same guy in the area. They then looked at his other auctions for all new academic versions of whatever that oddly had no boxes, and found he was taking laptops and a bunch of other stuff.

As for Compu USA, I found the same problem. I was thinking of going in to see if I could get a deal on a TV to put on my wall, and found their prices to be only 10%-15% and still higher then the Best Buy down the street. The only thing that was of decent pricing were the fixtures and the registers. The actual product they stocked were not great deals at all, and you could find better ones if you just waited for a holiday sale to come. I ended up just walking away with a retractable ethernet cable for 5 bucks, since I needed one, but the shipping on that one thing would have killed the overall cost. After I left, thought the same thing, no wonder that place is going out of buisness. As if they didn't learn enough from their Good Guys history.
