Enjoy!!!

Is it really not hot? I would need to see exact prices... Will they not be announced untill sunday?

My mom is looking for a good/cheap laptop for my stepfather for xmas...

Desktops, laptops, and printers have very little margin. You won't save much; in fact, you'd save more with mail-in rebates.

Not hot, but thanks anyway

I'd have to see an actual price list before making any assumptions on if this deal will be hot or not. It could turn out well for some items.

I love it. The website is selling a "Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor" for 479.99. Hmm...which one do they mean?

This isnt great on computers, but the profit margin on audio equipment is pretty high so this could be a good deal.

Yeah computers cost +5% is not liable to be that much of a sale. Most companies (B&M or otherwise) make very little margin on computers. They make it all up on the CABLES and accessories. Compusa has 800%-1200% markups on belkin cables (my cousin works there, he checked this stuff out).
A typical $1000 computer I'd be surprised if they made much over $100 or $150 normally.
Quite often the rebate deals end up being BELOW the cost of the retailer. Thats why often there's manufacture rebates and retailer rebates. Then the retailer can still make a profit (or at least break even) on many of the rebate deals. Except the killer ones like FAR, or something thats deal of the year quality. Those they do to get people to come into store in the hopes that you'll buy something else so they wont lose money on the sale.

BTW, dell's average profit is around 12% on a computer.

However some of the other non computer categories may be a much hotter deal. I dont know about audio as the other guy stated, but its quite possible you could get some killer deals there. For instance, if it includes logitech speakers you might be able to get a good deal there.

Me too! At first I thought "sweet! cheap PDA time!"

But alas...dirty Jersey is excluded yet again. Last time it was newegg.com deciding to ship out of NJ and charge us tax!

i was lucky, when i just ordered my new comp parts from newegg a week or so ago, i was able to ship them here to my college dorm instead of back home.

any reason why the paramus location is excluded?

I dunno about PDA's but I'm thinking some wouldn't be much cheaper. Like that cheap crap not worth buying useless thing palm zire 21. The "sale" price is usually $100, same as normal price.
