comp rebooting itself

first off specs.

AMD Athlon64 3500+ Venice
512x4 OCZ 2-2-2-5 Platinum Ram
MSI Nforce 3 Ultra Mobo
ATi Radeon x850XT PE
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Antec Truepower 2 550w

my friend's comp crashes everytime he plays UT2k4, Source, CS1.6.

The only games that he doesnt crash in is Quake3, CoD and BF2.

Ive had him reinstall video, sound drivers, disable onboard sound, take out his sound card and none of that seems to work. I believe it is a software problem since not all of his games crash. Its hard for me to troubleshoot it since im helping him over the net and walking through basics such as taking a sound card out scared him. So any advice on what it could be?

Sounds to me like a problem with those games you listed, try patching them.

If the pc runs fine for hours in those other games, then it doesn't sound like hardware. I've heard of problems with amd64 and certain games like ut2k4, where you need a patch to fix.
