comp freezing...HELP!!

ok, my computer keeps on "freezing"

but this i mean that i can't do anything on my comp...i can't move the mouse or use the keyboard...yet everything in the background keeps on working. and i do have the correct drivers for everything

does anyone know why this is, and how i could fix it? i am running win2k right now. thanks in advance

wrong forum...should be in technical support (you'll probably get better responses)

but anyhow... what kind of motherboard are you using? If its the popular kt7-raid and both your mouse and keyboard are usb, then i'd say its that since i had the exact same problem.

go to start>run and type in msconfig

disable some programs that you dont use, dont disable some dir you dont know, they might be of importance.

Your CPU is probably unstable. Is it overclocked?

no. not overclocked

everything has been working fine on the comp up until today, when it started doing this

somtimes it crashes sometimes it doesn't

i'm gonna run a mess of norton scans on it, and i'll see what happens

Maybe the mouse is frozen to your mouse pad and that is why it wont move?
