Ok..My computer has been freezing and restarting often lately when i have tried to install files or even unzip/unRAR them...

The other day, I tried to install Quake3, and after about 12 attempts, I gave up...My comp restarted or froze on every attempt after about 6% complete to a high of 35% complete..

This is on my budget system... I had just installed a Radeon LE on this thing, never had problems before this (had a geforce DDR prior to this card)...

Here are my system specs:

Duron 950 (Was overclocking, but I put it back to stock to check if that was the problem...nothing...I highly doubted it anyway) - alpha 8045 to keep cool (and 320w amd approved Psu)
Abit KT7a (Latest Bios, Latest Via 4in1's installed...)
Radeon LE (flashed to regular Radeon)
256 RAM (2-2-2 4 way.. but I tried more conservative settings to check if that was the problem..it wasn't)
WD 13.6GB 7200 RPM hard Drive (I'm wondering if this is the culprit..it has served me well for many years though...never any bad sectors...never any problems)
Old ass 12x CD-Rom.. (I am also wondering if this is the culprit with the Quake install...It IS very old...but I installed half-life on this thing..so i dunno.. )

I dunno...any suggestions? It seems almost as if it could be the cd-rom or hard drive... but it could very well be motherboard (via) related as well... I have no clue here...

I'll try something soon... I have an idea... (gonna swap out hard-drives and cd-roms..) But then if I copy the file over to hard-drive, and then unzip, it still has problems... so...I dunno...

Thank god this is my secondary (budget system)...or I'd be pissed like hell...heh

THanks for any help

First of all, you probably answered your own question..."it was fine before the Radeon". Do yo have the latest driver installed? It could be you're boards not supplying enough current to the AGP slot or maybe your card is bad. If it's not too late, you should RMA that board and get a different one.
