Hey guys. Just put together a new build with an Asrock Extreme3 Gen3. If i try to enable dual channel mode by adding my second g.Skill 4GB DDR3 1600 stick I get a blue screen shortly after logging into windows. I've tried all the different slot combo's and still same result..

Is there anything I can do?

Crap, now its crashing with a Memory_Management BSOD with just 1 stick. I'm pretty sure this is memory related.. If I don't still have the original box, can I still return RAM to Amazon? I'm thinking this might be a compatibility issue.

What voltage is the memory rated at and what is it running at?

try memtest first to see if your ram is faulty before sending it back.

Your board could be having issues, too.

Definitely need to adjust those voltages and get it running stable. Find out the rated voltages and timings for those DIMMs, set them to what G.Skill recommends as stable, and see if that helps; I'm sure you can find a forum or posting specific to the SKU of which memory sticks you have. If that doesn't fix it, you may need to tweak it a bit higher (always do voltage and timing adjustments in small increments).

Good luck!

hey guys I just got an email back from Asrock and wanted to post it here for anyone else that might be having the same problem.

"Please go to the BIOs setup and search for a function under Memory configuration > XMP > and load profile 1 , then save and exit.
IF your memory does not support XMP,please set the correct voltage and frequency in Memory configuration"

I haven't tested it out yet as I've been slammed between work and school. Thanks for your suggestions.. I'm going to try them this afternoon.
