I have been using their firewall for years on my laptop and wanted to see if anybody had tried their antivirus. I can't find a single AV test showing its effectiveness.

I tried it once a long time ago, found it to be slow and clunky. On top of that It didn't do a very good job of finding virii. Their firewall worked well though; better than zone alarm IMO.

I use Avira for my AV now; seems to be best of the best in the free for use realm.

I wish Avira free would scan POP3 mail.

It does, just gotta pay for the premium or professional editions. It's a small price to pay for a product that has better detection rates when compared to say Mcaffee or Norton (not sure about NOD32).

Free AVG 8.0 av will be able to scan pop email

AVG is a failure IMO. Low detections rates, resource hog, and chock for of blunders; especially last month with it's vista issue and detecting system files as a virus so it deleted it causing reboot loops. I will never use AVG again.

I have Avast on another machine and have used AVG. I was just curious whether anybody had actually tried Comodo's AV product.
